"Milan Kundera" coming to China

Two prime writings by Czech writer Milan Kundera will be introduced into China during the upcoming May Day holidays.

The much-anticipated publications include works like Farewell Waltz and Life is Elsewhere.

Farewell Waltz, acclaimed as one of his masterpieces, probes deeply into the lightness and weightiness of life, with many multifarious dilemma and conflicts.

The two novels are adding to eleven other Kundera works that have been translated into Chinese and published in China, such as The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, Slowness and The Joke.

Two more writings by Kundera will be published in Chinese later this year.

So far, the publication has made waves among Chinese readers with the total circulation exceeding one million copies and always selling out, a phenomenon in the book trade.

Prague Spring has swept China with its meaningful thoughts into human life and love.

The 75-year-old Kundera is famous for his satirical writing style and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature several times.
