The Hong Kong China Tax Society would discuss new hot tax issues with officials from the China State Administration of Taxation next month in Guangxi Province.
Speaking to Xinhua Wednesday, Paul Chow, the society's vice president and tax partner of accounting firm Grant Thornton, said complicated taxation issues such as how to tax the international architect design firms whose works for Chinese companies may not solely be done in China or the highly-paid soccer players who change a club may be discussed.
Chow said new taxation issues came along with the new business opportunities arising in China.
The conference would serve as a channel for Hong Kong experts to share their international experience and their own view with the mainland officials.
The society has held annual conferences with the state tax officials since 1998. Chow said the society held that the conference is an opportunity for the tax officials to collect updated information on Hong Kong and international tax systems.
"Through the conference, the tax official may be able to consider the impact of taxation law and regulations on investors from the perspective of foreign investors when formulating tax laws,"said Chow.
The Hong Kong China Tax Society is a non-profit organization, formed by professionals and academics with strong interests in China Taxation studies and research.
