Hamas claims responsibility for central Gaza bombing
font size

Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas, claimed on Wednesday responsibility for a suicide bombing carried out earlier near the Kfar Darom Jewish settlement in the central Gaza Strip.

The brigades said in a leaflet issued on Wednesday that a militant identified as Tareq Ahmad, 23, drove an explosives-loaded car into an Israeli military jeep that was passing by the area.

Israeli military sources said four Israeli soldiers were injured in the attack, one of them seriously.

The Israeli army immediately closed the area after the attack.
