The Chinese People's Armed Police Force purchased 165 million yuan's (19.9 million US dollars) worth of military supplies through public bidding in Beijing on Wednesday.
The purchase, mainly including quilts and clothes, was the largest of the force this year and attracted 32 suppliers, said sources with the purchasing department of the Armed Police Force.
The force started a reform in its purchasing system in 2003 and has now established a new system characterized by public bidding, which saved about 138.96 million yuan (16.74 million US dollars) last year.
