Southwest China's Yunnan Province realized 57.504 billion yuan (6.93 billion US dollars) in gross domestic product in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year growth of 11.1 percent in terms of comparable prices.
The growth rate was 3.1 percentage points higher than the year-earlier level, according to the provincial bureau of statistics.
In the three-month period, Yunnan recorded 7.698 billion yuan (927.47 million US dollars) in value-added output for the primary sector, 29.665 billion yuan (3.57 billion US dollars) in value-added output for the secondary sector, and 20.141 billion yuan (2.43 billion US dollars) in value-added output for the tertiary sector, up three percent, 12 percent and 12.4 percent respectively.
Of the total value-added output of the province's secondary sector, 25.129 billion yuan (3.03 billion US dollars) was realizedby industrial enterprises, up 8.7 percent; and 4.536 billion yuan (546.51 million US dollars), by construction enterprises, up 34.6 percent.
The bureau says that the primary sector registered a growth rate roughly the same as the year-ago level, the secondary sector,a growth rate 3.6 percentage points higher, and the tertiary sector, a rate 3.5 percentage points higher.
