The last batch of assistance gratis goods provided by the Chinese government, including gasoline and diesel oil, was handed over to the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday, according to a source from the Ministry of Commerce.

Up to now, the Chinese government has offered 10 million yuan RMB (about 1.2 million US dollars) worth of relief goods to the DPRK. It has provided the DPRK side with 2,000 woolen carpets, 300tents, as well as food, medicine, medical apparat uses and equipment, building materials and other relief goods.

The massive explosion in Ryongchon on April 22 has killed at least 154 people, including 76 primary school children, and left more than 1,300 others injured and over 8,000 houses damaged or ruined to varying extent.

To help the DPRK government to carry out relief work, the Chinese government decided on April 24 to provide it with 10 million yuan worth of emergency relief goods, the source said.
