font size

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said Saturday that the United States conducted more than 210 aerial reconnaissance against it in April.

"These cases were made by mobilizing strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes with different missions," the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted military sources as saying.

"At least 30 espionage flights were made by U-2 and overseas-based RC-135, E-3, EP-3 and P-3. The tactical reconnaissance planes including RC-12 and RC-7B that flew over Phochon, Chunchon and Rinje to spy on major military targets of the DPRK on the forefront area numbered nine on April 16 and eight on April 8 and 20 each," said the sources.

"Such aerial espionage committed by the US to stifle the DPRK by force of arms clearly proves the justice of the steps taken by the DPRK to increase the means for self-defense including nuclear deterrent," added the KCNA.
