Bank savings on rise in south China's Hainan Province

The outstanding sum of bank savings in south China's Hainan Province stood at 108.77 billion yuan (about 13.1 billion US dollars) by the end of March, up 17.9 percent on a year-on-year basis.

The figure was 3.74 billion yuan more than that recorded at the beginning of the year, said the spokesman for the Hainan provincial government.

By the end of March, the volume of unpaid loans was 88.73 billion yuan, up 14.3 percent or 1.37 billion yuan more than that at the beginning of the year. The growth range is 6.44 percentage points slower than the national average.
