Chinese President congratulates Putin on second term

Chinese President Hu Jintao sent Russian President Vladimir Putin a congratulatory message on Thursday on his coming second presidential term.

In the message, President Hu expressed his sincere congratulation to Putin and voiced his belief that the Russian government and people will make remarkable achievements in building their country under Putin's leadership.

The strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Russia has witnessed great development in recent years with frequent exchanges of high-level visits, resulting in fruitful cooperation in various fields and intensifying coordination and consultation in international and regional affairs.

"In your coming second term, I will work with you to push forward the strategic partnership of cooperation in the spirit enshrined in the Sino-Russian Good-Neighborly Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries," Hu said.

Putin is to take the oath for another term as president on Friday.
