Cambodian official values work of Chinese archaeologistsA Cambodian cultural official praised Saturday the good masterpiece of Chinese archaeologists in renovating and conserving temples in Cambodia, saying that it is a model in reconstructing Cambodia's old temples. Michel Tranet, under secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, told Xinhua "I would like to admire for their care and disciplines in repairing the temple." Chinese archaeologists are doing renovation on a 12th-century-built Chau Say Tevoda temple in world famous Angkor Wat under the cooperation agreement between the governments of Cambodia and China. Tranet said that the Chinese archaeologists repair the temple by following the old temple's style. He said that the cost for therenovation has been not less than one million US dollars over the period of two to three years. So far, the renovation has been completed 65 percent, Tranet said.
