State Councilor calls for more Sino-Japanese exchanges of young statesmen

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuancalled for more Sino-Japanese exchanges of young statesmen on May 8during his meeting with Komura Masahiko, president of theAssociation of the Dietmen League for Japan-China Friendship (ADLJCF).

Tang said he hoped the ADLJCF would carry forward the friendly tradition of their predecessors and initiate a new phase of Sino-Japanese friendship in the new century by observing the three political documents including the Sino-Japanese Joint Statement, and adhering to the principle of learning from history and facing up the future.

Masahiko and his party were here as guest of the China-Japan Friendship Association.

Tang also stated China's stands on Sino-Japanese relations, the Taiwan issueand the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula during his meeting in Beijing on May 8 with Hirose Nimichisada, president of TV Asahi of Japan.
