font size

More than two thirds of the 94 farmers suffering from food poisoning in a rural village in Inner Mongolia were feeling better after medical treatment, doctors said in Hohhot Sunday.

Meanwhile, five people remain in danger because of poor health and 20 others still have a fever.

The 94 people were knocked down after attending a feast at Zhenghao Village in Bainijing Township of Dalad Banner in Inner Mongolia on Thursday. Many shared similar symptom of nausea, vomiting, bellyache and high fever. No death was reported.

Laboratory test showed that salmonella in inferior assorted soy gruel should be blamed for the collective poisoning. Epidemic experts are making classification on the salmonella found in the gruel.

All the food in the non-staple foodstuff store in Dalad Banner of Inner Mongolia where the raw materials for making the gruel were purchased have been sealed up for further examination.
