Filipinos will go to the polls Mondayto elect a new president who will lead the country in the next sixyears.

The following are the names and terms of presidents of the country since 1946:

Manuel Roxas (May 28, 1946-April 15,1948)

Elpidio Quirino (April 17, 1948-Dec. 30, 1953)

Ramon Magsaysay (Dec. 31, 1953-March 17, 1957)

Carlos P. Garcia (March 18, 1957-Dec. 30, 1961)

Diosdado Macapagal (Dec. 30, 1961-Dec. 30, 1965)

Ferdinand Marcos (Dec. 30, 1965-Feb. 25, 1986)

Corazon Aquino (Feb. 25, 1986-June 30, 1992)

Fidel Ramos (July 1, 1992-June 30, 1998)

Joseph Estrada (July 1, 1998-Jan. 20, 2001)

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (Jan. 20, 2001-present)
