For the first quarter of this only, 384 batches of zero-tariff goods from Hong Kong and Macao went through the custom procedures smoothly.
Statistics showed the custom received 536 electronic certificate of place of origin from Hong Kong for the first three months of the year. 378 of them were let in, worth 172 million Hong Kong dollars. They were from RMB 10.182 million yuan taxes. Also in this period, there were 7 e-certificate of place of origin from Macao and six of them were accepted, which were worth 284.7 thousand Pataca (MOP) and free from RMB16.7 thousand yuan taxes.
The Early Harvest Programme of the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Cooperation Between China and ASEAN began to be carried out this year. As a result, imports from ASEAN which enjoyed the advantage was increasing for the first quarter of this year. Thailand has reaped the most among ASEAN members.
Custom statistics showed for the first quarter of this year China imported 6.154 billion yuan worth of goods as general trade under the Early harvest Programme, 16.1 percent higher than that in the same period of last year. 1055 million yuan worth of the imports took the advantage of the favorable policy and that was 17.1 percent of the general trade under the programme, involving tax exemption and reduction of 99.81 million yuan.
