Chechen Prime Minister Sergei Abramov returned to the Chechen capital Grozny from Moscow late Sunday night and started to officiate as acting president, Interfax news agency reported.
At an emergency meeting with some cabinet ministers, Abramov vowed to take measures to deal with the consequences of the Grozny stadium blast and tighten security in Chechnya.
At least seven people, including Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov and State Council Chairman Eli Isayev, were killed and dozens more injured in the blast during the Victory Day celebrations on Sunday.
The funeral for Kadyrov and Isayev will be held Monday.
