Romania expects more China's investment: official

The Romanian government expected more Chinese enterprises to invest in Romania, said a visiting Romanian official Monday in Shanghai.

Victor Ponta, a Romanian cabinet member, made the remark when he and his delegation were received by Chen Liangyu, member of thePolitical Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee.

During the meeting, Chen Liangyu said China and Romania have afine tradition of friendship. He expressed the hope to further thefriendship between the two countries.

Ponta spoke highly of China's economic achievements in the pastdecade. China has made a miracle in economic development and its strategy for development would be drawn by Romania, said Ponta.

The further improvement of the Romanian-Chinese relations will facilitate economic ties between the two sides, Ponta said.

At the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Romania, Ponta headed a youth delegation of 58 members to China to attend a commemorative festival sponsored by the All-China Youth Federation.
