font size

The South Korean Constitutional Court said Tuesday it would deliver a verdict on the validity of President Roh Moo-hyun's impeachment at 10 a.m. (0100 GMT) Friday, with the ruling to be televised live, reported South Korean Yonhap News Agency.

Roh was impeached by South Korean outgoing 16th National Assembly on March 12, accusing him of election law violations, incompetence and corruption.

According to South Korea's Constitution, the Constitutional Court has the right to make final ruling over the impeachment case, the first one in South Korea's history, within 180-day from March 12.

In earlier Tuesday morning's plenary session, the court decided the date for the announcement of the verdict over the impeachment, said Yonhap.

It was reported that the court's nine judges already made final decision over the case last week. But it was not known the exact content of the ruling.

Most of local media predicted the court will reverse the impeachment motion passed by the parliament.
