Scaffold collapse kills 20 at construction site in Henan

At least 20 workers were killed after a 63-meter-tall scaffold collapsed at a construction site in Anyang City of central China's Henan Province Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred at around 9 a.m. when workers of the provincial No. 7 construction company were removing the scaffold from a newly-built chimney in a local company.

An unidentified number of injured have been rushed to major hospitals of the city, rescuers said.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
