Vice premier meets IDB president
font size

Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju met Friday with Enrique Iglesias, president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Huang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China and Latin America have developed stable relations in political, trade and economic and technological fields.

The two sides still have great potential in further developing the bilateral cooperation, Huang said.

As an important regional inter-governmental financial mechanism, IDB plays a significant role in promoting regional economic and social development, Huang said.

He said China is willing to strengthen cooperation and exchange with the bank in a bid to push forward trade and economic relations with Latin America.

Iglesias said Latin America and China complement each other in economic development. The two sides need to deepen their economic cooperation.

He said he hopes his bank would serve as an important channel for the two sides' exchange and cooperation.
