US visa application procedure changed
font size

The US embassy in China has announced a temporary change to the visa application procedure.

Visa appointments are no longer needed and applicants will be received on a first come, first serve basis.

Earlier, the US Embassy Visa Call Center, which is the only way for Chinese citizens can apply for US visa appointments, closed for violating regulations this April.

The embassy also notes it will continue to deal with previously submitted visa applications.

Meanwhile, applicants who need prompt visa service are advised to submit applications ahead of time.
