Visiting Madagascar President Marc Ravalomanana said Friday in Beijing that his country welcomes Chinese investment and offers an improved investment environment.

Ravalomanana made the remarks while meeting with Chinese entrepreneurs.

Madagascar has revised its laws to perfect its investment environment, including permitting entrepreneurs to purchase land and introducing in equipment with zero-tariff, the president said.

Madagascar hopes to expand cooperation with China in the sectors of infrastructure construction, fabrics, garments, agriculture and mining, he noted.
