China attaches importance to the relations with Madagascar, and the Chinese government highly appreciates Madagascar government's adherence to the "one-China" principle and will push forward the healthy and stable relationship between the two countries.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao made the remarks Friday in Beijing when he met with visiting Madagascar President Marc Ravalomanana.
Wen gave a positive appraisal of the good momentum in China-Madagascar economic and trade cooperation, and put forward a three-point proposal.
First, the two sides should deepen economic and trade cooperation in accordance with the principle of equality and mutual benefit. Second, China will offer economic assistance to Madagascar within its capacity. Third, exchanges between enterprises should be encouraged, and China will facilitate its enterprises to invest in Madagascar, and meanwhile increase imports from Madagascar.
Wen said China has valued the friendship and cooperation with African countries, and will continue to increase assistance to Africa and promote human resources cooperation to further the comprehensive development of Sino-African relations.
Ravalomanana said Madagascar is rich in natural resources, and is facing the task to develop its nation. Madagascar and China have more room for cooperation on infrastructure and education, he said.
He added that Madagascar values China's experience in economic development, and will work with China to further the friendly cooperation.
