Liaison officers from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and South Korea met Friday in an area on the west coast, under mutual control of the two sides, to prepare for general-level military talks between thetwo sides.
At the meeting, both sides discussed practical issues concerning the opening of the general-level military talks on military issues arising in implementing the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, official Korean Central News Agency said.
The contact officers agreed to hold the first north-south general-level military talks at Mt. Kumgang on May 26, the report said.
