The water level of the Le'an River in east China's Jiangxi Province has risen above the alert line after heavy rainstorms hit the province in the past two days, the provincial hydrological department announced Sunday.
The river's water level rose 4.13 meters at the Sandu Hydrological Station on its upper reaches in eight hours on Saturday and the flood peak passed the Hushan Hydrological Station on the lower reaches around 14:00 Sunday with the water level being 0.83 meters above the alert line and the water volume being 4,050 cubic meters per second, according to the department.
On Friday and Saturday, rainstorms hit the province and it had an average precipitation of 56.4 millimeters. And the Le'an River Valley, in the northeastern part of the province, reported an average daily precipitation of 97.6 millimeters.
