Kazakh President Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev presented a wreath to the Monument to the People's Heroes in the center of Tian'anmen Square here Monday morning.

Nazarbayev, accompanied by Chinese Minister of Railways Liu Zhijun, Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhou Xiaopei, Kazakh Ambassador to China Zhanybek Karibzhanov and other officials from Kazakhstan, bowed deeply to the 35-meter-high monument to show his respect to China's national heroes.

In the morning, Nazarbayev and his party also visited the China Millennium Monument, where the Chinese government and people ushered in 2000 to greet the new millennium and the new century.

Nazarbayev arrived in Beijing Sunday for a four-day state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao.
