font size

A forum on the science of sex will be held this October in Beijing to promote the development of sexology in China, said sources with the China Sexology Association (CSA).

New concepts of "sexual quotient" and "sexual health" will be discussed at the forum, said Hu Peicheng, general-secretary of the CSA.

Sex is no longer a taboo in China and the new concepts can tell people scientific, healthy and comprehensive knowledge about sex and help them to establish right opinions on sex, said Hu.

"Sexual quotient is a new concept proposed to reflect the health state of one's sex life," said Hu. And Chinese sexologists are doing research to make this more accurate and measurable, said Hu.

During this forum, researchers will summarize China's scientific achievements on sexual science and select the highest awards in China's sexology research for the first time. An exhibition on China's sexual culture and history will also be heldduring the forum.

The forum will be held once a year, starting from this year. The China Sexology Association was established in 1989 and the forum is also to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the association.
