Chinese KMT Revolutionary Committee fully supports China's reuinification
font size

The Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang has expressed its support to the central government on the Taiwan issue and pledged to fight for the reunification of the country.

The Taiwan Work Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council on Monday made a statement on the current cross-Straits relations, disclosing Chen Shui-bian's fake democracy and expressing the mainland's determination to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"The Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang fully supports the solemn stand of the central government," said Chairwoman of the Revolutionary Committee He Luli on Wednesday.

He said Chen Shui-bian refused to accept the one-China principle and even set a time schedule for "Taiwan Independence" through a referendum for a "new constitution".

"How can these behaviors leading to separation and damaging the reunification bring peace and development to cross-Straits relations?" said He, also vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress.

The separatist force in Taiwan represented by Chen ignored the firm resolution of the Chinese people to defend the reunification of the nation, pushing the cross-Straits relations to the brink of danger.

"This could only bring disasters to compatriots on the two sides of the Straits and damages to the whole Chinese nation. Meanwhile, the separatists are doomed to be persons condemned by history." said He.

To have more exchanges between the two sides of the Straits is the most effective way to promote the sound development of cross-Straits relations and also a step to realize peaceful reunification of China, said He.

He appealed to compatriots on the two sides of the Taiwan Straits to unite to firmly defend unification of the country and stop separatist activities of "Taiwan Independence".
