Putin reappoints Russian cabinet members

Russian President Vladimir Putin Thursday issued decrees to officially confirm the formation of the new government and the restoration of a new ministry, the presidential press service said.

According to the decrees, all the current members of the cabinet, which resigned shortly after Putin's inauguration on May 7 as required by the constitution, will retain their posts.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communication, which was dissolved in a cabinet shake-up in March ahead of the presidential elections, will be restored. Leonid Reiman has been appointed as the head of the ministry.

Putin reappointed Mikhail Fradkov as Russia's prime minister onMay 12 after the State Duma, or lower house of Russian parliament,approved Fradkov's candidacy.
