Given the government's majority vote in the House of Representatives, all eight cabinet members targeted by the opposition's censure motion easily secured themselves Monday afternoon from the no-confidence attempt.

The eight targeted cabinet members are Deputy Prime Minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, Deputy Prime Minister Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, Deputy Prime Minister Suchart Suchart Jaovisidha, Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, Education Minister Adisai Bodharamik,Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit, Commerce Minister Watana Muangsook, and Information and Communications Technology Minister Surapong Suebwonglee, according to the Thai News Agency.

All the eight cabinet members overwhelmingly escaped the opposition's no-confidence attempt in the vote on the censure motion. The targeted cabinet members were accused by the opposition of failing to perform their duties efficiently, and of performing against good conducts, ethics and moral.

Two of the targeted ministers, Adisai and Wan Noor, also faced impeachment charges for violating the law and constitution.

Wan Noor was also accused of having irregular wealth. The governing coalition controls the majority vote of 338 in the House, including 296 of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's Thai Rak Thai Party (TRT), 39 of Chat Thai Party, and the rest of the Rasadorn and the Social Action Parties.

To secure themselves from the no-confidence motion, the eight targeted

cabinet members were to each have at least a supported vote of half of the total number of MPs in the House, or 250.
