Ties with China "problem-free": Indian FM
font size

Describing Sino-Indian relations as "problem-free," Indian external affairs minister K. Natwar Singh said on Monday that the new Congress-led government would seek to intensify bilateral ties.

Minister told reporters that bilateral relations with China are problem-free except for the boundary question. But he noted that a mechanism had been set up to address this problem.

Singh also noted that Sino-Indian relations dated back over 2,000 years and the bilateral ties now were based on "panchsheel," the five principles of peaceful coexistence.

He added that India looked forward to intensifying relations with China.
