Construction of Beijing 2008 Olympic sailing marina starts

Hein Verbruggen (C), president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission, visited the construction site of Qingdao International Sailing Marina for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in Qingdao, capital of East China's Shandong Province on May 25.

Hein Verbruggen, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission, visited the construction site of Qingdao International Sailing Marina for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in Qingdao, capital of East China's Shandong Province on May 25. The construction of the sailboat center kicked off, IOC, Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and officials with Qingdao municipal government attended the commencement ceremony. Covering 45 acres and with a total area of 770, 000 square meters, the sailboat center includes Olympic village, athletes' center, media center etc.
