7th Beijing Int'l Hi-tech Expo concludedThe 7th Beijing International Hi-tech Expo, which lasted for 6 days, was concluded on May 26. A press conference was held by the organization committee of the annual event this afternoon. It is expected that the expo is on its way to be an "international brand". This expo, said Lu Hao, Deputy Mayor of Beijing, who was at the press conference, was a "success". It attracted 30,000 visitors from around the country and the rest of the world. Some leading hi-techs debuted at the expo. Prominent figures on economics delivered speeches at expo. Speakers include top government officials, including Zhou Xiaochuan, Governor of People's Bank of China, Nobel laureate, Robert Mundell, Chairman of World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab and executives of world's top businesses. Ten overseas mainstream media from Britain, US, Japan, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong SAR and China's Taiwan, such as Reuters, NBC and Kyodo News, selected 10 points which attracted most attention from overseas media. China-EU Sustainable Business CEO Forum was honored as the "hottest forum". Looking ahead, Lu said the next expo to be held next year would be more innovative and make more efforts on details. He stressed the expo would be more "specialized" in the future by focusing on specific, professional and hi-profile exhibitions, forums, and trade talks.
