Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju met in Beijing Wednesday with Jeff Immelt, chairman and chief executive officer of the General Electric Cooperation.
Huang said that China's investment environment has been improved since the country entered the World Trade Organization inlate 2001, and its economy has kept stable and rapid growth.
China has its own favorable conditions in its manufacturing, human resources, and market, and drawn more and more transnational firms, he said, adding that the Chinese government welcomes the world-renowned companies to expand their business in China.
As one of the largest transnational groups in the world, the GECo. has conducted fruitful cooperation with Chinese entrepreneurs and contributed to Sino-US economic and trade relations, Huang said, adding that China expressed appreciation for it.
Immelt thanked the Chinese government for its support to the GECo., and said the GE Co. had maintained friendly relations with the Chinese businesses, and hoped to conduct greater and more extensive cooperation with China in manufacturing and banking spheres.
