Wal-mart in western China
Wal-Mart, the world's top retailer,opened its first store in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Thursday. This was Wal-Mart's 39th store in China and the third store in western China after Qunming and Nanning.Joe Hatfield, president of Wal-Mart Asia, said the second storein Guiyang is expected to open in December this year.

Allawi to be Iraqi PM
The United States has confirmed that Iyad Allawi, a Shiite Muslim and a member of the Iraqi Governing Council, will be prime minister of an interim Iraqi government slated to take over power from the US-led coalition by the end of June, agencies reports said Friday.
