Chinese, foreign children celebrate Children's Day

Children from China and other countries got together here Saturday to celebrate the International Children's Day, which will fall on June 1.

Some seven hundred children from China and more than 50 countries' embassies in China gathered in Zhongshan Park and gave their national performances in the museum of the park.

Chinese children played orchestra music with traditional Chinese instruments. Russian children performed Russian folk dance.Indonesian children sang famous Indonesian folk songs. And children from Kazakhstan embassy and some African countries' embassies also presented the audience with dances and songs of their own feature.

The event, titled "Global Babies", is co-sponsored by the organization committee of China International Friendship and Culture Festival and China National Committee on Aging.

This event aims at enhancing friendship and cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign children, and creating a sound growingenvironment for the Chinese children, a personnel with the organization committee said.
