Sharon warns to dismiss ministers over pullout plan
font size

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon warned Sunday that he is ready to take "unprecedented political steps," including the dismissal of ministers, in order to make his plan be passed, Israel Radio reported.

"I am determined to pass this plan, even if I am forced to change the make-up of the government or to take unprecedented political steps," he said during a cabinet debate on his new disengagement plan.

Sharon has brought "an evacuation in stages" -- the revised disengagement plan distributed to ministers Friday -- to the cabinet despite the fact that he only has 11 ministers in favor, while 12 ministers oppose the initiative.
