Small bomb rocks central Athens with minor damage
font size

An explosive device has caused minor damage to a court building in a town in central Greece. A woman pedestrian passing outside the building was slightly injured.

Reports said that a home-made explosive device was set off on Saturday evening on the fourth floor of the main courthouse in the town of Larissa, causing only minor damage.

A woman pedestrian passing outside the building was slightly injured from flying glass.

No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility.

Although the Greek government has spent one billion euros, or about 1.2 billion US dollars, on security for the Games, four homemade bombs have gone off in Athens so far in May, causing a headache for the host country and triggering international anxiety and concern about Olympic security.
