font size

At a meeting on joint law enforcement on fishing activities on the sea, China and the United States exchanged views and reached consensus on a wide range of issues concerning contacts and cooperation between fishery law enforcement of the two countries as well as training and personnel exchange in this regard.

A US fishery law enforcement delegation made up of officials from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) arrived in Beijing on May 16 and started a seven-day visit to China.

The Chinese delegation led by fish-farming operation official Peng Xiaohua conducted open and constructive talks with its US counterpart.

The two parties recalled their joint law enforcement operations on the North Pacific high seas during a decade. The US side highly praised China's efforts in striking illegal fishing on high seas.
