Wu Yi: China to fulfill commitments on Shanghai World Expo

China will fulfill its commitments on the Shanghai World Expo, which was scheduled to be held in the year 2010, Vice Premier Wu Yi said in Beijing Monday.

Wu told Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales, secretary-general of the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) that the preparations for the Shanghai World Expo were proceeding in an orderly manner under the leadership of the organizing group.

Meanwhile, she said, China is making active preparations to prepare for the World Expo 2005 in Aichi of Japan.

Loscertales spoke highly of China's preparative efforts for both the Shanghai World Expo and the Aichi World Expo, saying that the BIE will also continue to cooperate closely with China to prepare for the expos in all aspects of work.
