AC Milan loses China tour opener

Italian champions AC Milan have caught the interest of Chinese football fans since arriving in Hong Kong. But Carlo Ancelloti's side suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat against a local team in their debut charity match on Sunday.

Such big names as Andry Shevechenko and Paolo Maldini started for Milan, but strong defensive play by the hosts left both sides with blank score sheets by the end of the first half.

It was Ukrainian, Sheva, who eventually broke the deadlock for Milan, however the hosts hit back with two goals from their striker.

Milan will fly to Shanghai after their three-day stay in Hong Kong and take on a Shanghai based team.
