Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri said that Pakistan and India will have to move forward towards composite dialogue process to resolve all outstanding issues including Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Kasuri said both the countries will have to work on a solution of Kashmir issue which is acceptable to Pakistan, India and Kashmiris.
Taking serious note of Indian Foreign Minister Natwar Singh' s statement on speeding up dialogue process setting aside Kashmir issue, Kasuri said "we should observe Rhetoric Restraint Regime toavoid misunderstanding and not conduct diplomacy through the media."
"This restraint has worked well in the recent past and should continue to work after the transition of the government in India,"he said
The foreign minister said both the countries should make sincere efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue as the status-quo is part of the problem and not a solution. He said the resolution of the issue must be for peace and security in the region as unresolved status of Jammu and Kashmir dispute has already pushed the two countries to three wars.
Kasuri said both sides will have to clearly understand that their shared objectives is durable peace in the region which cannot be achieved without the resolution of Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
The international community also feels that durable peace in South Asia can only be achieved by accommodating the aspirations of the people of Kashmir, he added.
