Beijing: Meeting and fair for world and local market

International VIPs will gather at the 1st International Annual Meeting for Ocean Shipping in July. An event initiated by building materials manufacturers from north China coincides with expansion of a foreign giant in China in this industry.

Beijing to host 1st int'l annual ocean shipping conference
The 1st International Annual Meeting for Ocean Shipping will be jointly hosted by China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, Drewry Shipping Consultants from Britain, and China Ocean Shipping Monthly magazine in Beijing from July 15 to 26. Participants from around the world are expected to include government officials and representatives from shipping and manufacturing businesses, as well as VIPs from trade and economic circle. The impact of China on the structure of global trade and shipping market will be top on the agenda.

1st North-east China Hardware Fair held in Beijing
The 1st North-east China Hardware Fair has been held in Beijing recently which was jointly initiated by an array of well-known building materials companies. As Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei are all included in the urban planning of Beijing planning policy, a big market for building materials in this region is expected to be there. Manufacturers from Beijing, Tianjin, Tangshan and other parts of north China were at the fair.

Ohio-based building giant Owens Corning, one of the world's top 500, declared they moved their head office for Asian-Pacific operation from Hong Kong to Shanghai and would expand their core manufacturing business in China. The expansion plan will result in the only glass fiber tiles plant out of US and the fourth glass cotton heat preservation materials plant in China. The company's investment in China tops 80 million USD.
