font size

China welcomes the formation of a new interim Iraqi government, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao said Wednesday in Beijing.

Liu made the remark at a routine news conference when asked to comment on the new interim Iraqi government formed Tuesday.

China hopes the new interim government will help Iraq resume full sovereignty as soon as possible in order to stabilize the situation, said the spokesman.
