Deloitte's 150m. USD investment in China the historic one in a single marketDeloitte, one of the top four accounting firms in the world, unveiled its ambition in the following 5 years in China. It will invest 150 million USD, increase its number of employees to 8000 or 4 times as many it is now, and push its operating revenue up to 5 times as it is now. In the meantime, Deloitte, as it is called now, used to be called Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. The new brand, Deloitte, began to be used by its China operation from June 1. It pronounces as "deqin" , meaning "morality and diligence" in Chinese. Bao Yi, the first CEO of Deloitte's China business, stressed his company's investment in China would be the boldest one in a single market in its history for more than a hundred years. He is convinced any service agency must be part of Chinese market to be a truly global player. Deloitte now is actively cooperating with multinational projects involving in China investment and looking for alliances and possible targets for acquisition.
