Henan coal mine flooding traps 9

Nine miners were trapped in a coal mine submerged by flooding Wednesday morning in Yingyang city,central China's Henan province, said sources with the local government.

The accident occurred at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hongxing coal mine in Jiayu town. Rescue efforts were made immediately when leading officials of the city government and the related departments all rushed to the scene.

Investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
