China is ready to work with Turkey to further increase the cooperation on law and justice to enhance the existing friendly ties and to safeguard regional peace and stability, said a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official.
Luo Gan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, met withTurkish Justice Minister Cemil Cicek Friday.
Luo said the principles of "rule of law and building up a socialist country ruled by law" have been enshrined in China's constitution and is the strategy of the governance of the country.
He noted that the socialist legal framework with the constitution as the core has basically been established in China, adding that the National People's Congress passed a constitutional amendment this March, in which the protection of human rights and private property, and the state of emergency are enshrined.
Luo acknowledged that China and Turkey have enjoyed long-term friendship, and the high-level exchanges of visits have been frequent, and bilateral cooperation in all fields kept increasing.
The two countries have maintained close contact on cracking down on terrorism and transnational crime, he added.
Cicek said Turkey will continue its cooperation with China on law and justice, and make new contributions in promoting economic and trade relations and safeguarding social stability of the two countries. He vowed to contribute more to cracking down on terrorism and transnational crime.
Cicek is currently visiting China at the invitation of Minister of Justice Zhang Fusen.
