Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said on June 5 that Malaysia strongly opposes the use of all forms of terrorism to resolve conflicts.
Malaysia would opt for the civilized approach through consultation with the world bodies, which must be given support and full cooperation by all countries, especially the big powers, Abdullah said in a speech released in conjunction with the birthday of Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Paramount Ruler) Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin.
Through diplomatic channels, Malaysia would strive to find a solution to the tension in world politics, especially in Palestine,Iraq and Afghanistan, he said.
As chair of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Malaysia would continue to voice out against unfair practices, he said.
"The frustration in Palestine has reached a level where it has sparked terrorism all over the world," he said.
The prime minister said that no country would be spared from terrorism and many innocent lives were lost and properties destroyed.
"Malaysia is firm in rejecting practices that adopt the law of the jungle which gives victory and rights to the strong to do whatever they want to the weak. The lives of the weak are just as valuable as that of the strong," he said.
He said Malaysia would also continue to voice its opposition to injustices and play a constructive role on the international stage.
"Foreign relations will be pursued on the policy of mutual respect and non-interference in the affairs of other nations," he added.
Last month, Malaysia hosted an OIC Special Meeting on the Middle-East which decided to send an OIC delegation to meet members of the quartet.
The quartet, consisting of the United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations, had worked out the Road Map peace plan on the Palestine issue.
