font size

A 51-year-old mother gave birth to a healthy test-tube baby boy at Xijing Hospital in northwest China's Shaanxi Province recently.

The mother, surnamed Wang, gave birth to a girl at the age of 24. Unfortunately, the girl died at three. Three years later, she became pregnant again and had the second daughter. However, the younger daughter died in a traffic accident at the age of 21.

Wang became frustrated and came to the Xijing Hospital attached to the No. Four Military University of Medical Science in the accompany of her husband in 2003, asking gynecologists to help herhave another child with test-tube technology.

"Having another child is the only hope in my life," she told gynecologists.

Doctors of Xijing Hospital tried to make her in a good mood and adjusted her menstrual period before carrying out an external insemination.

When Wang was in labor, gynecologists had a caesarean operation on her and the mother gave birth to a 2.3-kg baby.
