By Tuesday night, the death toll in the landslide in southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality last Saturday afternoon rose to 15, with six others still missing, said the rescue headquarters.

The three injured, including an adult and two children, have been recovering, according to the doctors.

All the dead and those missing had been identified, noted the source. Continuous heavy rainfalls led to mountain torrents that collapsed, at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, part of a local hill and a coal gangue deposit of the local Nantong Coalmine Bureau in Xinhua Village of Wandong Town of Wansheng District.

Rubbles from the hill and gangue deposit slid 500 meters far and buried 24 farmers from 14 homes nearby.

Fourteen working teams had been set up to deal with the aftermath, including resolving the problems faced by the victims, including supplying enough food and accommodation for the affected farmers along with their family members, and arranging funerals for the dead.

A total of 17 children were affected by the landslide accident and 12 of them had resumed their classes except the two injured and the other three still missing.

The schools where they study timely offered them commodities for study and daily use, besides supplying them food and accommodation after the accident occurred.

The rescue work is continuing.
