A Cathay Pacific Airways flight made an emergency landing at Hong Kong International Airport early Wednesday morning after an engine trouble was reported.

The Boeing 747-400, with 402 passengers and crew members on board, landed safely at the airport at 01:30 a.m. Wednesday and no injuries were reported, according to a spokeswoman of the Cathay Pacific.

The Flight CX251, heading for London, returned to Hong Kong International Airport after a pilot spotted smoke coming from one of its engines about 75 minutes after the plane's taking off.

The passengers were transferred to another flight soon and the cause of the engine trouble is under investigation.
